Hello and welcome to slr52.com.

My name is Steve Lean, I'm 55 and my background is in freelance photography, writing, website design and online marketing.

In 2003 I semi-retired to Estepona, Spain from where I still work for new and existing clients, albeit on a part-time basis.

My business is "Getting you Noticed on the World Wide Web." (Please also see our other website, SLw3.com, where we offer small and medium-sized businesses practical advice and solutions to their "w3" requirements.)

Why are we different?

This site has come about because, as a photographer, I have been asked many times to do a photo-shoot for people with property to sell here in Spain.

This I have always strived to do mainly as a favour to friends (and for a drink or two!).

It was then that I put my website hat on and suggested to some of them that they should have a website and market their property privately.

Almost every one of them came back at me with, "But websites are far too complex and expensive for the average Joe (or Jane) to even consider."

Now, at this point I'll let you in on a little secret: they're not! This is a common fallacy put about by - yes, you've guessed it - the website design industry!

How else are they going to justify their eye-watering fees? It is definitely not in their interest to actually admit that, in today's online world, almost anyone can have a website for two or three hundred euros.

Plain language, simple and inexpensive solutions.

Anyway, as a test I persuaded my friends to let me build some sites for them and said to them when they were finished, "Just pay me what you think they're worth."

I must admit this put them on the spot a bit but every single one of them offered me more money than the prices I am quoting on this site!

This gave me the idea for a business which offers a professional service to private owners and sellers looking to market their property.

The main difference with us is that we speak plain English, not geek-speak!

So ignore the IT jargon and don't believe the hype, the plain fact is that it is possible to have your own professional-looking website for not a lot of money.

So who are we?

Well it has always been my motto to never go into business with anyone unless you love them or they are part of the family (one and the same really).

There's me of course, I do the pictures, the copywriting and the website design. (Is there anything else?!)

Then there are my two sons, James and David. They are website and computer whizz-kids based in England and their design and technical support helps me out when it all gets too darned complicated for my old brain!

Last, but most certainly not least, there's Carole. She holds everything together by making sure I'm where I'm supposed to be and doing what I'm supposed to be doing at any given moment.

Carole and I live in Estepona on the Costa del Sol and we cover the western Costa from Malaga to Sotogrande.
